A collection of handcrafted goods to celebrate the Celtic spring sabbath. Beltaine is a fire festival that marks the coming summer with fertility rites to ensure abundant crops and celebrates sex and sexuality.

Included in this kit:

-One pair Beltaine candles - Each pair of Prairie Fire candles is hand dipped, the same way candles were made for centuries by our ancestors. I chose the first blooming wildflowers in my region for the herbal blend used to dress the candles. I also added oak leaves, oak moss, hawthorn, and other plants associated with Beltaine.

-One 1 oz bottle Damiana Cacao Elixir - In the spirit of the sexy aspects of this festival, I created a aphrodisiac tincture that can be shared with a consenting partner (please don’t dose without permission) or to enliven your special alone time. Damiana, cacao nibs, orange zest, vanilla beans and warming spices are extracted in vodka, then sweetened with rich chestnut honey. Dosage varies so start with one or two droppers full and increase after 20 minutes if you want to intensify your experience. Take under the tongue for the quickest results, but can also be added to water or juice, as bitters in a cocktail, drizzled over ice cream. (Note- the cacao nibs do contain a small amount of fat which can separate after awhile. Just give a vigorous shake to reincorporate.)

-Beltaine Rooibos Herbal Tea - A warming heart healing tea. Delicious iced or warm. Add 1 heaping tablespoon to 8 ounces boiling water. Steep 3 minutes and sweeten if desired.

-Hawthorn leaf and flower - This organic herb deeply connected to May Day in Celtic folklore. The white or blush pink flowers appear every year around Beltaine, and smell rather erotic. I’ve written extensively about hawthorn here, so have a look if you’d like to learn more about this tree that is sacred to the Fae and is tied to sexuality and love in folklore. To use hawthorn in your Beltaine celebration, you can leave it as an offering to the Fae or to whichever deity you work with. A tincture made from hawthorn is especially good for heart health, and in my opinion, an excellent herb to turn to in times of grief or trauma. Make a tea, dress candles, burn as incense.

-Copal resin - Usually associated with consecration and protection magick, I veer from tradition and use copal in love magick. It’s considered a solar resin and here too I break with the normal associations and work with it as a lunar resin. However you use it, it’s sensual and lush and burning a bit on a charcoal disk or on a wax warmer is a beautiful offering and promotes relaxation and clears the heart. Burn a little to get you in the mood for sexy Beltaine activities.

-Florida Water Loose Incense - Consecrate your space and yourself with solar smoke cleansing. Made with citrus, lemongrass, frankincense and other herbs and botanicals associated with the Sun.
